Mediacom Communications Launches Digital Cable Service in Five New Markets

MIDDLETOWN, NY--(BUSINESS WIRE)--March 2, 2000--MEDIACOM COMMUNICATIONS CORPORATION (Nasdaq: MCCC) announced today that it will launch digital cable service in five new markets: Edenton, NC; Waveland, MS; and Worthington, Hutchinson, and Waseca, MN. These March launches bring the total number of Mediacom's digital markets to 17, serving over 300,000 homes and 200,000 basic subscribers.

With these new launches, we now offer digital services to over 27% of Mediacom's customers, who can enjoy as many as 120 additional video and music channels, enhanced quality of picture and sound, and an on-screen interactive guide," said John Pascarelli, VP of Marketing.

"The considerable capital investments we have made and continue to make in upgrading our cable network have positioned the Company to rapidly deploy these new broadband products. By the end of 2000, we expect to launch digital television in systems serving over 50% of our subscriber base," Pascarelli concluded.
